Special Interest Groups

The Board of Directors of the Hellenic Scientific Society for Assistive Technology decided to establish Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in the following fields, with the respective coordinators:

  • Terminology — Fotini Terzaki
  • e-Accessibility — Giorgos Kouroupetroglou
  • Assistive Technologies in Special Education — Eugenia Cheiladaki
  • Assistive Technologies for Mobility — Chrysa Tzougrana
  • Environmental Control — Kalliopi Lappa
  • Alternative and Augmentative Communication — Kyriakos Karabatzakis

The establishment of the SIGs aims primarily at improving the collection, processing, and management of information, as well as promoting research, training, advancement, and development in the various fields of assistive technologies in Greece, in accordance with the broader objectives of the Hellenic Scientific Society for Assistive Technology, as stated in its Statutes.

For the operation of each SIG, one coordinator—who is a member of the Board of Directors—and up to five core members have been appointed. Regular and associate members with relevant interests may participate in the individual activities of the SIGs after contacting the responsible coordinator and depending on the needs of each group.
